John J. Steneck
, 77 (1943-2020).
A life long resident of Hudson County, NJ passed away peacefully on November 2, 2020. John was born with severe cerebral palsy.
Although he was never able to speak or care for himself, he certainly was able to let people know what was on his mind.
Born with a good memory and normal I.Q. he knew all the birthdays of the nurses who cared for him, as well as the work schedules for all.
He resided his first fifty years in Jersey City with his family and the remainder of his years at Alaris Health in Secaucus.
Johnny was an avid sports fan. His teams were The Yankees, Football Giants and The NY Rangers. The Highlight for him was the Giants first superbowl championship. The lowest point was The Brooklyn Dodgers beating the Yankees in the 1955 world series, it was decided in the seventh and final game with "Brooklyn Bums" winning 2-0. It was the only sporting event that made Johnny cry.
Johnny is survived by his loving brothers Larry, Kenny, Dennis, and Paul. Also survived by his beloved friend Gretchen. He was pre-deceased by his parents John Harold and Jane (nee Casey) and his loving sister Caroline.
