Gloria Cristina Rodriguez
(82) passed away Monday, November 2, 2020. She was born on July 24, 1938 in Havana, Cuba to Rosalia (née Zapico) and Manolo Rodriguez. On March 10, 1961, she left her beloved Cuba and exiled to the US. She worked at North Hudson Community Action Corporation as an Immigration Coordinator for 30+ years. In retirement, she was able to enjoy her time with her grandchildren, family, and little dog.
“ ‘Pa que sepas (so you know),” Gloria was an amazing strong woman, incredible cook, hard worker. She loved being with her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. From making her incredible meatballs, ripped meat (flank steak), flan; or, being part of pranks with and by the kids; from spiders falling from the ceiling fan to grammar with Gloria (“Goody, “Gualmart”), she enjoyed every moment. She was an incredibly giving person, with a big, caring heart.
She is predeceased by her parents, Rosalia and Manolo Rodriguez, and sisters, Maria del Carmen Escoto (nee Rodriguez) (Otto) and Rosa B Yecora (nee Rodriguez).
She is survived by her daughter, Maria C Martinez (Bill); grandchildren, Frank A Rodriguez (Jeanna), and Rebecca M Rodriguez (Karter); granddog Marble; nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews Rosa, Sal, Rosalia, and Lina Stagnitta; Julian and Julianne Yecora; Ana, Anthony (Karla), and Kyle DeOrio; Otto, Anna and Kevin Escoto; Maria Eugenia, Elizabeth, and Samantha Masters; Maria Isabel, Jerry, Nicolas, and Gabriel Castiello; Brother-in-law Julian Yecora; cousins Eduardo and Angelita Escobar; Caridad and Francisco Moreno; Gerardo, Kim, Benjamin, and Johanna Moreno. As well as other family members and friends.
