Mary Florence Ninivaggi
(née Marciano), entered into eternal rest on April 27, 2020, at her residence in the Paramus Veterans Home.
Mrs. Ninivaggi was born on May 11, 1928, at home in her family’s residence in Cliffside Park, New Jersey to Angelo and Florence Marciano (née Pinto). Always a hard worker, Mrs. Ninivaggi held various jobs throughout her long life starting at a young age: as a ticket taker in a movie theater, at the Palisades Amusement Park (where she would meet her husband, Perry Ninivaggi), at the Lever Brothers factory, and then as a cashier for over 20 years at the Point Diner in Fairview, New Jersey. She was a long-time North Bergen resident, and also worked for many years as a teacher’s aide at the Horace Mann School.
Mary had a love for food and her family, and often combined the two. She also loved to play the slots, and would often take off for Atlantic City. She would always recount the time she hit the three “7’s!” She was fun to be around, as she always acknowledged beauty and joy in the world. Mary was extremely kind and generous with those she loved.
She is survived by her two adoring granddaughters, who will let her live on in their memories, Alise and Krista, and her daughter-in-law Helene. She is predeceased by her son, John Ninivaggi, her husband, Perry Ninivaggi, and her sisters, Frances Monteforte and Angelina Lombardi.
Due to the restrictions around Covid-19, the family will plan a memorial service at a later date.
Donations in her honor can be made to the American Italian Cancer Fund (AICF).
Even during times of social distancing, anyone who has suffered a loss deserves love and support more than ever before. Let the family know you care by leaving treasured memories, thoughts and prayers in our Online Guestbook.
