George Ann Jaslow of West New York passed away on Tuesday, July 30th, 2019 at the age of 81.
She is predeceased by her mother Mary Reilly and Grandmother Georgina Bottino.
She is survived by her longtime companion Eugene Wasnesky; Children: David Jaslow, Debra Frischkorn, Denis Jaslow- wife Donna, Daniel Jaslow - wife Maria, and Donna Jaslow; Grandchildren: Ronald, Robert, Serafina, Samantha, Luke, and Danielle; Great Grandchildren: Nina Marie and Robert James; Siblings: Micki Greco-Shillito, Rosemary Haggerty, Barbara Dutko, Antionette Weathers, Tom Reilly, Ann Cole, and Myles Reilly; and many nieces and nephews.
George Ann never brought books home from high school but still managed to graduate second in her class. One of her favorite jobs when she was young, was working with her Uncle Vinnie, delivering milk. She also worked in Tool & dye, drove a school bus, worked at Maxwell House, owned and operated DMJ Photo (Marvel Photo) in Union City, finally for Bidermann Industries and Ralph Lauren before retiring.
She was involved in and loved Scouting, for both the girls as a leader and the boys as a den mother, for which she received the Silver Fawn Award for outstanding contributions to Scouting.
She loved working with her hands, whether it was sewing costumes for her grandchildren or making centerpieces and favors for every party. She could turn a piece of wood into a work of art. She was the “Go To” person for everything. If you needed something and couldn’t figure it out? SHE FIGURED IT OUT! even if she had to make it herself. She had the ability to know what you needed. George Ann always knew how to make you feel special whether it was something as small as a hug or words of encouragement, your favorite cake on your birthday or maybe even tools that you didn’t know you needed. She knew!
George Ann will be sorely missed by all that knew her.
